Kicking off the conference, musician and debut author Charlie Parr comes to Proud Larry’s. Parr’s album Last of the Better Days Ahead represents “a time when we turn from gazing into the future to gazing back at the past, as if we’re adrift in the current, slowly turning around.” The companion novel marks his debut as an author and depicts the lives of everyday humans unrolling in poetic and unvarnished ways that those who love Parr’s songs will cherish.
